SHUTESBURY — The Shutesbury Select Board voted unanimously to let library staffer Marianne Antonella pursue a chemical-free knotweed removal project along a half-mile roadway. The 3-0 vote followed questions from Vice Chair-level member Eric Stocker, who confirmed no herbicides were involved before backing the plan; Antonella said a prior chemical treatment near the library cost about $3,000. The board also signed the 2026 state primary warrant 3-0 after Town Clerk Calvin's presentation, and appointed James Walton to the Personnel Board.

Separately, highway department staffer Dave detailed MassDOT signage requests for the crash-prone Prescott Road and Route 202 hill, where Stocker said "I think we should form a roads committee." A Montague Road resident, Angela, described a bus that cannot stop at her icy driveway and asked for a dirt-roads survey.
